“What is a good ACT score for you may not be a good ACT score for somebody else with different goals.”
High school kids, are you looking at applying to college? Taking the ACT exam is one step in the process. This piece gives you the basics of taking the exam. For example, it’s based on 36 points. 22 is considered a fair grade, to get into smaller schools.
Watch the video to get some backround. The ACT grade is one one item looked at when applying to a school. But it may help you gain admission, if you score high. Good luck, and score high(30+), if you want an IVY League education.
- An ACT score is based on four sections, English, reading, math, and science, each worth 36 points and your composite score is the average of those 4 sections.
- Generally, a composite ACT score of 24 or 25 will gain you admission to a 2nd tier large state university.
- To gain admission to a top 15 university you will probably need an ACT composite score of 34 or above.
